Sundance B&B is a restored 1911 cattleman’s home with five guest rooms, run by Margaret and Dale Ostrander. We’re an easy 27 miles from Devils Tower and the first good night’s sleep on your way into the Black Hills.

Breakfast is the whole point, honestly
Carol has cooked breakfast here since the year we opened. It’s served family-style from 7:30 to 9:30 — think sourdough from the Spearfish bakery, eggs from a ranch outside Hulett, Carol’s huckleberry coffee cake, and a pot of coffee that never seems to empty. Tell us the night before if you’re headed out early and we’ll pack you something for the road.

Devils Tower is 27 miles up the road and best at 8am. We keep trail maps, a chalkboard of the day’s road conditions, and Dale’s honest opinions about which Black Hills drives are worth it. Spearfish Canyon, the Vore Buffalo Jump and the Sundance Kid’s old jail are all within an easy loop.
